Cha Yen (Thai Milk Tea)

The first time I came to Thailand (years back, in Chiang Mai), I fell in love with it.

Cha Yen a.k.a. Thai Milk Tea.

Not just that the drink is awesome, but also how they prepare is jaw-dropping. Swirling the hot tea around, using two stainless canisters (and sometimes four canisters), on air! And, did I say “on air”? Yes, I did! Refreshment and a show in the streets of Thailand. Never to be missed. But don’t worry, you don’t have to go there to get a taste of Cha Yen.

My friends and I will be at a popular jogging place in Fairview, Quezon City to sell the authentic Cha Yen of Thailand (less the acrobatic part of preparation though.)

Neopolitan Business Park at the back of Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center and SM Fairview to be exact. We’ll be there in the morning, until supplies last. If you happen to be running or biking there this Saturday (July 8, 2017), drop-by and say hi. Don’t forget to order too!Β πŸ˜‰

Cha Yen photos were taken at a small restaurant near the Grand Palace.

The photo of the guy pouring Thai Tea was taken in Chatuchak Weekend Market.
